What actually happens when you have an orthopaedic operation? This is an outline of the care pathway provided by Victorian Bone & Joint Specialists. Your individual journey will be tailored to your specific needs.

1. Referral to us

The first step to having our experienced team of orthopaedics specialists assess your condition is to be referred by your provider.

2. Imaging referrals

At the time of your consultation you will normally need to have imaging available. Please discuss this when you are booking your appointment. If you require further imaging, please see our standard imaging protocols below.

3. First consultation

Our experienced team will perform a thorough assessment and provide you with the information and plans you need to get back to your best.

4. Hospital admission information

If you require a hospital admission, there is specific information that is required to be completed prior to arrival.

5. Pre-operative information

Before your operation there are a few things that are important for you to do. Our specialists will guide you through what you can do to make your journey as smooth as possible.

6. Post-operative information

Following your operation, our team will provide you will detailed care instructions. This can include physiotherapy rehabilitation, any other consults required, and wound care information.
